Not every solution requires new software. Many times, more can be achieved from taking a step back to understand the business's & customer's needs. Creating a better process flow across the whole orgaization is far cheaper both today and in delivering better efficiency moving forward.

Jane Stockwell leads Intracept Technology.

With a background in Information Technology and particularly how information is visualized, I know how important it is to start from the point of "what is the real pain" and "how can we best solve that?"

It is easy to simply throw technologies at a problem but really all you ever get is more pain. While initially it seems slower to talk this strategy stuff, then the tactics stuff, and then the solutions stuff, not doing this tends to waste a lot of time and money. Not to mention the frustration with each dead-end that has to be patched or reversed over.

  • Senior Technical Architect with Rymac Solutions Pty Ltd. Design and Lead Developer, expanding and improving the current product set.
  • Data Validation Analyst/Developer with Vale Australia
  • Developed new visualisations and data analysis tools for the commercial product Leximancer. The visualisations developed during my PhD became a key feature of version 3.0 of the Leximancer product and provided sophisticated analysis tools that increased the usefulness of the product to customers.
  • Product Architect with TSA Software Solutions
  • Technical Manager for Partnered Solutions. Managed the software development team and set project milestones for CRM software for commercial release
  • Technical Team Leader with Suncorp Metway Ltd
  • Senior Analyst/Programmer with Department of Natural Resources
  • PC Applications Development (PCAD) team building small applications for BHP Steel, Transport and EPA.
  • Bachelor of Information Technology with 1st Class Honours at University of Queensland. Published academic peer-reviewed journal articles on Information Science and Information Visualisation.

Every part of your business has to be about sales. Nothing should be done in back-end seats without it building a better experience for your customers. If either customers or staff can't see this, then the organization is focusing on the wrong problems.

Everything is sales. Right now you are judging my picture to see if it makes you feel like I can make your life better. All that people want from you is to know that you can make their lives better, or at least better than the dollars that you ask in return.

Too often people do that with fibs and scams. That only works for a short while. Then it all goes horribly wrong. It isn't hard to get it right first time.

Key Experience

  • Sales Manager with a Content Management System (CMS) businesses focused on the SME space. Face to face sales as well as Training on the strategy and tasks in building and maintaing a website as a sales tool.
  • Sales of cars & caravans for Proton, Peugeot, Mazda and Adria. Face to face sales as well as creating delaership Websites, Forms and Customer Flow processes. Several of these solutions were elevated to the importer/manufacturer level.
  • Customer Service & Account Control with a large Australian Bank where I started to learn that many businesses seem to choose the least sensible course for staff & customers at every possible turn.

Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory.
Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.
